STEP 3) Complete and/or Update your NAYS Coaching Training.
In addition to a completed background check, all coaches need to be certified via the NYSCA program. If you’ve completed this in the past, your NAYS card will include your membership number and expiration date. Your expiration date must be greater than August 1, 2024 to be valid for this season. If your membership is expired, you just need to renew your certification for the new season. It’s easy. Go to

For new coaches, certification is accomplished by participating in the NYSCA Safety and SB training clinics.

Madison requires all youth sports coaches to complete concussion training. This requirement may be completed at no charge in conjunction with your NAYS certification. A link to that training follows.

If you have already completed this requirement for softball or any other Madison youth sports program, there is NO need to repeat this training.
